Prime Minister's Scholarship


 

WHiPA congratulates high performing Capital Swim club swimmers Natasha Hind, Gareth Kean and Samantha Lucie Smith; and Simon Latimer, Diving Judge as they receive their Prime Minister’s Scholarships this year.

The New Zealand Academy of Sport hosted a dinner in Auckland on March 10, Minister of Sport, Murray McCully presented scholarships to high performing athletes, coaches, officials and support team.

Simon Latimer has just received his first appointment to the World Championships and is on track to be one of the youngest judges ever to officiate at an Olympic Games. Wellington's own Charlotte Glynan also receives an official's scholarship and is off to Europe to officiate on the Diving Grand Prix circuit to gain assessments for further appointments.

Natasha Hind from Capital Swim Club is in the NZ High Performance program striving for Olympic selection in 2012. She receives her scholarship to assist with her study at Massey University.

Other Capital swimmers to receive PM Scholarships this year include Gareth Kean and Samantha Lucie Smith. They will receive their awards at a dinner in Wellington in May.
